Rev. Dr. Short devoted twenty-nine years to pastoral ministry in three Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) congregations, followed by twelve years of service as General Presbyter for the Presbytery of Eastern Virginia. After retiring in May 2013 and moving to Roswell, Georgia, he continued his ministry by serving as Interim Pastor at the Church of the New Covenant (PCUSA) in Doraville for eight months.

We are grateful to have Rev. Dr. Short now serving as our bridge pastor as we continue our search for an interim pastor.

Bridge Pastors in the Presbyterian Church USA are responsible for guiding and preparing congregations for new pastoral leadership. They provide spiritual leadership, pastoral care, administrative oversight, and organizational direction. Bridge Pastors may also assist with mission trips, counseling, visitations, and other pastoral services. They play a crucial role in the transition period, helping the congregation to look toward the future and strengthen its ties with the denomination.
